Reasons to Live For

Here to give you lots of reasons to live

Is happiness good for business?

The world is increasingly designed to depress us. Happiness isn’t very good for the economy.

If we were happy with what we had, why would we need more?

How do you sell an anti-ageing moisturiser? You make someone worry about ageing.

How do you get people to vote for a political party? You make them worry about immigration.

How do you get them to buy insurance? By making them worry about everything.

How do you get them to have plastic surgery? By highlighting their physical flaws.

How do you get them to watch a TV show? By making them worry about missing out.

How do you get them to buy a new smartphone? By making them feel like they are being left behind.

To be calm becomes a kind of revolutionary act.

To be happy with your own non-upgraded existence.

To be comfortable with our messy, human selves, would not be good for business.

  1. Yes, absolutely! I think that a lot of these are problems with capitalism specifically. Also – this may be controversial – but a lot of these practices unfairly target women and minorities (at least in America). Anyway I’m really glad you posted about this! Open honest discussion about these issues is so so important πŸ™‚

  2. This is an interesting point of view, rings true! Great article!

  5. Happy are those who have love for others,
Sad are those who live for others.

This one is really great. I enjoyed it.
Do you believe that there is a cycle of happiness that runs as long as we pray the lord and embrace the dear nature?. I tried explaining it in my post . Hope you like it.

    Have a great day.

  6. A great read-insightful, valuable and helpful. Thanks for the additional links. Long read but worth it:-)

  7. Thanks

  8. I love this one! I guess most people are not that satisfied on what they currently have. Buying a new phone while you still got one is an example.

What are your thoughts on this?
