One of the issues of the modern society is that a lot of people, especially youngsters, don’t truly value themselves and don’t really believe in their capacities. “I Am Not Good Enough” is one of the most common phrases we hear among such individuals.
To see if you are one of them, let’s examine the following sentences. Have you ever thought of yourself that you’re not good enough to do something or you’re not good enough for somebody? Have you ever thought about not being able to finish a certain task or work? Have you ever thought of yourself: I’m not good enough, I don’t know etc.? If you have, then exists a big possibility that you are not (or were not) completely aware of the potential within you.
Atelophobia is defined as the fear of not doing something right or the fear of not being good enough. In other words, it’s a fear of imperfection.
The thing is that each one of us is capable of doing whatever our minds can imagine. What’s more, there is usually more than just one way to the realization of our goals. Most of successful people might say, that without hard work nothing can be achieved, while others might emphasize more the law of attraction, visualization and gratefulness. No matter which tools each person chooses, if you keep on being persistent, there’s nothing you wouldn’t be able to achieve.
WHY A LOT OF PEOPLE THINK “I AM NOT GOOD ENOUGH”?
Table of Contents
There’s a lot of possibility that most of people who have negative thoughts about themselves, have been implanted those thoughts already in the childhood (until the age of 10 our neocortex – analytical part of the brain – is not developed yet. The consequence is that children up to that age easily absorb most of the things they see and are being taught – because their brain is not developed to the point to be able to differentiate between what’s good and what’s bad for them).
It’s a fact that our self-image is mostly created during the first years after being born, that is, mostly in the family environment. Most of the times those beliefs were even not intentionally served to us. Knowing this, you might wonder, why would somebody that’s supposed to love us, give us negative thoughts about ourselves, hence the thoughts that might harm us in the future.
Before you start putting blame on other people, you need to understand that most probably they were given the same thoughts from their ancestors. If their ancestors never learned anything about the personal development in general, I’m sure that up until today they still don’t have a slightest clue about their wrong doing.
The good thing is, that with growing up it seems you found yourself lost in a new place and are right now looking for solution. If it wouldn’t be like this, I’m sure you wouldn’t be reading this article. Moreover, I believe that this article was brought to you because you need it and it will help you to believe in yourself again and make you realize about your true potential.
The fact is that you are reading this article because you probably need it at the present moment in your life and it has a potential of making you a better person. Moreover, if you are aware of this missing piece in your life it means that you are also capable of improving it. See, the realization of the problem is often a very good start on the way of healing and improving your life.
But before you continue with the article, which is also going to offer you solutions, you need to be 100% certain, that you are willing to work on yourself and that you are ready to see yourself as the center of the universe, because that’s how you should see yourself – as one and only priority, but with a great extent of humbleness – you are the center of the universe, but you’re not the only one in the center.
THE RESULT OF COMPARING YOURSELF TO OTHERS
Comparing yourself to other people will not bring anything good to you. So why do it? If you try to compare yourself to someone else, you will be able to see a lot of differences between you two. Because there are not two people on this Earth that would be the same. The comparison will only make you anxious and make you question your abilities and potential.
It’s actually completely impossible to compare two people. Each one of us has a different background, different social and financial status, received different kind of knowledge, has different perspective on life and the way of overcoming the problems and most importantly, each one of us has different perspective on life and has different goals. Knowing this, can you see why it is totally unnecessary and »stupid« to compare yourself to others?
If you really want to take one thing for the compassion of your improvement or success, why not compare yourself to the person you were yesterday, one week ago, one month or one year ago. In this way you will be able to see objectively your progress or decline. Make it a goal to be a better person with each passing day, and every day try to do just a little bit more than you did yesterday. Make a competition with yourself and I guarantee you, that you will become not just better, but the best.
WORKING TOWARDS YOUR GOALS
It’s the universal law that the more you work for and towards your goals, the more confident you can become. Every achieved goal is just a result of small deeds done on a daily basis and it is those daily achievements that can reward you with the feelings of accomplishment and achievement. The more you work on your goals, the more confident you become, the less you worry about other people.
There is one more reason why is that so: The more time you invest in reaching your goals, the more you realize that little can be accomplished without the help of other people. In this way, other people go from being your competitors, to being your left hand on the path of realization of your dreams.
This relationship that begins to be built on this stage of life can be crucial for your success. What is more, this relationship must not be built without a specific purpose. No matter what, you always have to strive to build a win win relationship, that is a relationship in which both parties will benefit from it.
If you realize the importance of having this kind of relationships in your life, and not just in business but also in personal life, your life can change dramatically. People are always willing to do more and invest more in the things that they see also benefits them. So you always need to first let them know how a certain thing will be in their favor as well.
CONCLUSION – BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
Believe you can do it, make a plan and start to do small steps towards your goals. Small deeds lead to big rewards. If you believe in yourself, there is nothing that could stop you and there will be no reason to compare yourself to others. If you believe in yourself, the sudden drive will appear inside of your body and you will have no other choice than to go work on our goals.
When this drive appears, you will become unstoppable. You will only see the road that leads you to the realization of your dream, the opportunities that come when building relationships with other people and as a result more and more achievements will appear, hence you will be left with more self belief than you ever thought possible.
Go in the direction of your dream, build an enormous self belief, start working hard every day, build as many win win relationships as possible and see the world changing in front of your eyes. Believe in yourself, in your capacities and your strengths. If you believe that you can do it, then there is no other way possible. GO FOR IT!
