Dear Mick Ebeling Not Impossible author,
I just got done reading your book and I have added it to my list of life changing books. It has given me a whole new perspective.
Mick Ebeling is an award-winning film, television, and commercial producer, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and public speaker. He is the founder and CEO of The Ebeling Group, an international production company and creative think tank representing some of the world’s leading design/director collectives.
He is also the founder of Not Impossible Labs, an online crowd-sourcing platform instigating the creation of low-cost, open-source, DIY devices to help people in need. Not Impossible Labs (NIL) was founded based on Mick’s firm belief that ideas that once seemed impossible turned out to be possible.
I will just write about my most favorite parts of the book, one of them being: “Say yes first, ask questions later. Commit, then figure it out.” where he tries to explain that if you are really moved by a cause and you are a 100% sure that you want to go ahead and do it, then just commit to it. Even if you are not entirely sure how you are going to go about, your enthusiasm will guide you along the way and you will figure it out.
Mick goes by the principle help one, help many. By this he means that you do not have to work on a massive issue like global warming or world hunger. In fact if your work ends up helping just one person, consider it a job well done. So the next time you are having a difficult time finding motivation, you might as well consider this.
“Let’s be clear. When I talk about overcoming that voice, I’m not talking about ignoring it or pretending it doesn’t exist. I am not fearless. I fear failure. And I fear failure a lot. But I teach this to my boys: When you are feeling afraid of something, or afraid you can’t do something, don’t deny that fear. Don’t just pretend it doesn’t exist. Allow it in. Say hello to it. Get to know it.“
This is so powerful because it teaches us an important lesson, we cannot over come our demons just by simply ignoring them. We need to acknowledge them, feel them and then consciously know that they are not bigger than us. This is the best way to overcome fear of any sort.
If you are someone who wants to achieve big in life then this is the book for you. It will enable you to overcome whatever mental barriers are coming your way, not letting you unleash your true potential.
Conclusion
Most importantly, you taught me that may be my dreams are too small immigrating to another country for having a postgraduate diploma is not a dream big enough to dream but to change a person’s life was living far away to a place no one would even imagine going to is a dream worth having
I hope that one day I am able to do something for someone selflessly expecting nothing in return but changing their life I think that is a dream that be worth having. If I can read this out to Mick in person, I’ll be the happiest man on this planet. Mick Ebeling Not Impossible goes into my list of life changing books for sure
